Had a nice BBQ earlier today with family and I ate so much I don’t think I will need to eat much for dinner.

Ended up using the spa before too, it was a nice end to the day.

Below is a photo showing the progress so far. Hope to have this finished next weekend and then look at putting some nice hedging plant in. Want something that will grow about say 90cm high. Will create a bit of privacy and probably cut down on the amount of dirt dust that would otherwise blow onto the porch.

Managed to get a bit knocked off price too. Brought it home set it up, then had to wait about 12 hours for the device to get the latest updates, then get enabled with the device name I selected. We already owned a older TiVo 160gb and I had the home networking package enabled/purchased.

While I was waiting for it to update I noticed TiVo offering a 1Tb Expander drive by redemption. Just need to setup a Caspa Wallet, then purchase a unit between a certain time frame. Of course pay for postage costs. Submitted details and got a error. Which clearly said the unit was believed to have been previously registered prior to the offer. Contacted the people behind the email address pointed out this was a unit purchased a few days earlier and falls within the period, and isn’t excluded by any conditions. To my delight, they fixed the problem with in 2 business days and then a few days later my credit card was charged for the postage. 1Tb Expander drive arrived today and it only cost me $10 for the postage. Very happy.

On the upside, the grass seems to be growing so fast it’s hard to believe. Problem is, you mow the lawn and then within days of doing so it’s needing another mow. All we need now is for the rain to ease up a bit so that those lawns can get another trip.

I’d love to be able to run the remote control car a little more, haven’t had the chance to do so due to the weather. Managed a short go late today and then we got a serious storm in the late afternoon.

I wish I got a video clip of the water tank overflowing. The rain was very heavy and the tank was overflowing with a very high flow rate of water. Pretty impressive to see, but shame we didn’t have another tank to collect all that water. Oh well.

Managed to get a replacement air compressor today and a friend gave me a tyre pressure attachment, so I can pump up my car tyres when I want. No more need to visit the garage to use the tyre pump. Sweet.

Hope everyone had a lovely Xmas period, and soon to be New Year’s.

I noticed Simon Rumble has been somewhat busy with DIY projects, and funny enough so have we. Thought it was a good as time as any to post something about what has been going on.

We’ve purchased a shed, and constructed it. Will post photos once I take some, as I don’t have any of it at the moment. However I spent the Xmas period doing a reintaining wall mainly to create a nice area for a garden. Believe me I need to cut back on the lawn, as mowing all the lawn we do have takes too long. Further more I am sick of having to do the edges of the grass against the house, I wanted something between the house and the lawn. So we installed some 400×400 pavers, and it came up alright too. Pictures all below, the wall is still not finished. Working on the last 90 degree turn back into the slope, and then I need to dig the hole bigger to hook it up to the storm water pipes.

The food was great. Got to love BBQ food. My mum made some of her famous sausage rolls and other stuff. It was all so nice.

Removal’s are coming tomorrow, appliances are being installed tomorrow too. Hope it don’t rain while we are trying to move.

On Thursday we have booked in a number of things to happen, so it’s going to be very busy. A/C is going to be finished off, appliances have to be installed, Telstra is doing phone service and Antenna guy will install antennas and booster/amp for all the tv points.

Soon as I have a phone line, I’ll apply for ADSL. Will schedule a bit of time to then setup of the new desks in the office and unpack the computer gear. I also need to make time to do the various network ports in some rooms. Looks like it’s going to be a busy few weeks going forward.

Previous to this the main living areas had tiles laid a few days ago, and the pictures below show how those areas look with the tiles. The colours certainly came up well.
