Purchased a new PC game

I use to love playing Battlefield 2, however this game is a bit long in the tooth. And I built my new system to play Battlefield 3, when it comes out.

So to hold me over for a few months, I decided to purchase Battlefield Bad Company 2, as I heard from friends it is good (who play it). So I ordered it from ozgameshop (as recommended to me from another friend recently). It was $20.99 shipped to Australia. Good price.

Will post back my experiences with ozgameshop, however I am not expecting anything but a good experience, much like I have got with Play-Asia in the past, whom I also use from time to time.

Excellent Service

You have to give thanks where it is deserved.

I’d like to give a thanks to Arc Computers in Liverpool, who assisted me today with the swapping of a front case (and all associated cables/PCB’s) of a Fractal Design R3 Define case. My one had faulty USB ports, which I believe was due to the cable + PCB having issues. So they advised to bring it back in and they would swap it out. Sure enough they did today. And I am pleased to announce with it all installed back into my system, it’s working as expected.

Thanks, and will be happy to deal with them again in the future. Good prices and excellent service.

VMware Workstation User Interface complaint

Was tinkering with VMware Workstation and when I was setting a Team found that the User Interface (UI) associated with aspects of teaming you cannot scale down smaller than a set limit. Which is somewhat annoying if you can’t fit the guests running with a reasonable resolution and still access them correctly.

See capture below;

Google+ account created

After days and days of trying, I have finally got a Google+ account.

The services is quite good from what I have seen so far. I really like the web layout when using it via safari on the iPad for example. So far so good. You can find me via the link here.

Microsoft now a leader in x86 Virtualization.

It would appear Microsoft HyperV is now considered a leader by the Gartner Magic Quadrant for x86 Virtualization Infrastructure.

I must say I am not really surprised this might of happen, others might laugh or poke fun at it, but I knew like others Virtualization no matter the vendor would get more important as time went on. In fact I even thought Microsoft would gain more ground in this space, which was the primary reason I completed and attempted the MCITP for Virtualization last year.

Well done to Microsoft. You find the original link from the blog poster over at the following site here.

New machine – Intel i5 2400

Purchased new bits to build an Intel i5 2400, as I wanted to get a reasonable good machine put together that will allow me to purchase and play battlefield3 when available in October.

Not only that it will allow me a bit more grunt for some of the virtual machines I been building to demonstrate CommVault Simpana features etc.

I am using an old Video card at the moment, but plan on spending the last $330 or so dollars on a ATI 6970 as they start to drop in price, probably in a months time (or two).

Got a few pictures of the bits and the case showing the cable routing I did to try and make things tidy. That way the only cables over the place will be the sata ones etc.
