Month: September 2009

In other news, I ordered a Traxxas 1/16 E-Revo Brushless VXL. This unit will give me something to use while I do running repairs on the Traxxas Revo Nitro truck I have.

The Traxxas Revo I have needs some attention. It was stuttering a bit while idling today and then would stop. I think either the gearbox needs attention or possibly the clutch. Will soon find out once I get time to pull it apart.

Looking very forward to getting the new E-Revo electric R/C car though. It should provide some use without the hassle of always doing lots of repairs which the Nitro truck seems to always require one way or another.

Windows XP RDP connection issues

Had an incident on Friday evening where my work desktop which has allowed RDP to work for a long time, suddenly refused to work. After a reboot it still failed to work, so I knew it would require m0re investigation on Monday.

Below is a screen grab from the events showing an error that seemed to be generating a bit around the time the machine was rebooted and when I was trying to attempt connection.

A little research later, and with the help of Google. I came across the following website here.

I added the registry key as recommended, and rebooted. Sure enough, the error above has disappeared and RDP into the machine now works again. So it appears the registry key is something that is required in this situation.

It’s a registry fix that increases the size of the session image space. ¬†Add the following key:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlSession ManagerMemory Management]
Where 00000020 is hex for 32

Life as a parent

It’s difficult being a parent I’ve found. It seriously takes lots of time to be a dad. Even so I enjoy it.

While I have been busy, I am now making a commit to continue to post and try to post often. I certainly enjoy sharing what is going on. So hopefully everyone should continue to see some regular posts.

Feel free to comment and/or contact on any posts. Always welcome feedback, be it praise or not.
