On the account that my previous PCI-e video card died and then the cost refunded. I set about buying a new one. The first one I ordered was on back order. After waiting 17 days I decided I would wait no longer. It was to be a SilentFX 7600GT from gainward. In the end I changed to the SilentFX 7300GS from gainward. In the hope no GPU fan would mean less noise.
In other news, our line in our rented house has a really high attentuation on the account that we are 5.5km in cable length from the exchange. It made the cisco 837 unable to maintain dsl sync. I borrowed my mums Zyxel 660H and it worked fine with 7, 10 and 22 hour connections. So went and bought a Dynalink RTA1025W wireless router, which was plugged in lastnight. It too seems to be fine with the high attentuation line. So finally we can use internet again. Didn’t like the thought of having no broadband for 6 months.
And to our surprise, it appears our block of land got some action done to it. We went past on weekend to find it had been levelled and getting ready for pegging/concreting. Exciting times.

On the account we have opted to build a new house, it means we will have to rent while that process takes place.
We’ve rented before, as we had to before we bought our first house. I remember the experience well enough to know it’s a pain. But something one has to do. Got through it.
This time around it hasn’t been much different, although I must admit this time around it’s probably be on the side of being a worse experience. Honestly thought things would get easier after finally finding a place. Attempted to get a discount on rent as the place in question had no side fence, it appeared to have rotted away. In the end this got down turned and we made it quite clear. Either we pay the reduced rent and we pay to fix the fence or the owner fixes it and we pay the asking price. Turned out we agreed on the later. Informed that the fence would be fixed on Monday.
Roll forward to today, and after several attempts to follow up on this the fence is still not done. Oddly enough we were informed it would be started in the afternoon today and completed tomorrow morning. Guess what, by 4pm today nothing had been started. Attempts to follow up with real estate property manager resulted in them left for the day.
Tomorrow morning we are due to sign the lease, and well I’d certainly hate to be the person who has been saying since last Friday it will be done, as it’s now a week later and not done. So much for being able to do the job they are suppose to do.
My wife and I are utterly annoyed. I certainly hope the person in question who is meant to be managing this property for her sake calls past said property tomorrow on the way to work, cause I know I will before I go sign (and they will certainly be getting a good talking too about the fact they haven’t done jack in that period to get it done). I could just choke them.
-WILL NEVER DEAL WITH THE FIRM IN QUESTION EVER AGAIN-
