Rant: Real Estate Agents

In light of our house selling and the fact we wish to build something new, it means we have to rent.

So begin the problems. The process to rent between various agents is so different, or at least the paperwork needed to be filled out is so different. Biggest frustration is that they seem to need more paperwork then that of our credit union who allows us to secure a new mortgage against our new place.

Further more its suprising the number of details you read about a property, later to find it isn’t as described. It would also be nice if they included pictures of any yard, since it might save you time looking if it’s not suitable.

This time around, I am more then ready to pull out my hair. As it’s a total nightmare to deal with these people.

If I am ever in a situation to rent out a place, I’ll be doing my research as so many agents seem to take days to call back people who asked about a property, let alone not call at all (and force you to follow them up everyday just to try and see a place).

I personally think the industry and process needs to overhauled and be pulled into line as some sort of standard, and someone should write a story about how some places just seem to mismanage the whole process of trying to rent a property.

Grrr.

And it’s SOLD.

As of today the cool off period on our house ended, and the real estate changed the sign to indicate it was ‘SOLD’.

Now to organise where to live, and then set about getting the new place sorted so that everything can happen. ie. it needs to be built. Which means sorting out getting various tradesmen to do some extra work for us during it being built. ie. data cables, alarm sensors and extra phone/tv cables ran.

Talk about queues

I headed over to MSY earlier and dropped off my failed PCI-e video card. Thankfully I didn’t have to queue up. I asked the first person I saw if I am returning something faulty do I have to queue. He said no, and then proceeded to do an RMA form etc.

Now all I have to do now is wait, apparently it takes about 2-3 weeks turn around. Thankfully I have a friends card which I have borrowed (as they had a spare one).
